Admissions Requirements
You must meet all
admission requirements of the Graduate School. You must also take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or an equivalent test.
Other requirements for the degree include:
- Outstanding promise as a teacher-scholar in a science or science education, as demonstrated by success in previous college studies, test scores, and experience.
- A master's degree in a science, science education, or a related field from an accredited institution with a grade point average of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
- If you have not earned a master's degree, you can apply to one of the eight departments involved with the science doctorate program:
Upon completion of a master's degree program, you may apply to the doctoral program. With careful planning, your master's course work can be applied to your doctoral program's plan of study.
Additional Requirement for Science Education Applicants
At least two years successful professional experience in teaching or the equivalent and teacher certification in field relevant to your intended major.
