Applied Physics

The applied physics minor is open to anyone who has an interest in the field. This option is mainly for anyone wanting to pursue a career in the industry of physics.

We have two options within the applied physics minor. You can choose to pursue electronics or nanoscience.

If you choose the electronics option, you will take electronics classes and study things like semiconductor components, power supplies, transistor amplification, integrated circuit operational amplifiers, active filters, oscillators, and function generators

The nanoscience option will teach you basic concepts, underlying principles, theories, and applications of modern physics. Some topics include special relativity, quantum physics, atomic structure and models, molecules, and solids.
