Required Courses
To earn a minor in European studies, you must complete 18 credit hours of course work. Proficiency is required in a continental European language by passing three semesters or the equivalent of study in one contemporary language, through the 201 level. By taking a placement exam, you may begin at a level higher than the 101 level. The chairperson of the
Department of Modern Languages and Classics will determine language equivalency in consultation with the European studies program director.
