The Department of Special Education provides a wide range of programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels to prepare future and current professionals to support the needs of people with disabilities.
We are committed to teacher preparation, and to instill excellence in our preservice and inservice teachers, practitioners, and scholars in the field of special education, autism, and applied behavior analysis.
Our academic offerings include degrees at all levels. Further, we provide programs for students to obtain initial or additional teaching licenses in the areas of mild, severe, or hearing impaired. Special education teachers may wish to pursue our administrative licensing program to become a director of exceptional needs.
The Teachers College is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. Learn more.
