Current sentiment regarding the educational establishment is reflected almost daily in the news media. The public has demanded more accountability from all entities involved in the educational system. Although much of the emphasis has been on K-12 education (e.g., such as the PL-221 legislation in Indiana and the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, also known as No Child Left Behind) teacher preparation has also been the subject of these legislative initiatives.
