The Social Psychology Program at Ball State University is the only social psychology program in the nation to be located within a counseling psychology department.
Due to its unique departmental location, it is infused with a multicultural approach, which is commonly found in counseling psychology. In fact, the program's specialty is cultural psychology. Ball State University also offers the only dual Social Psychology/Clinical Mental Health Counseling program in the nation. Class sizes are small for all 3 tracks (general social psychology, applied social psychology, and the dual track), which allows for more individualized interaction between faculty and students.
Further, the Social Psychology Program at Ball State is one of very few master's programs to offer full funding to the vast majority of its students. There are many opportunities for research both within and across departments. Our students end up in PhD programs in social psychology, marketing, counseling, and other fields, as well as in jobs in non-profit organizations, human resources departments, and many other areas.
If you are interested in the program, we encourage you to e-mail the Program Director, Dr. Brooke Wilken (firstname.lastname@example.org), and to get in touch with current students. Many of our current students thoroughly enjoy the program and would be happy to assist you in making your decisions. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
