M.A. and Ed.S. Program Suggested Course Sequence

Notes

  • All classes are not offered every semester. You should consult the required courses checklist and official university publications for when classes are offered.
  • You MUST take EDPSY 640 to obtain your master's degree.
  • You should apply for your master's in the semester in which you will complete 30 hours (usually during summer semester of your first year).

First Year

Fall Semester (12 credit hours):

EDPSY 653 - Individual Cognitive Assessment.
EDPSY 687 - Pre-Practicum--Introduction to School Psychology.

Choose 2:

EDPSY 640 - Methodology of Educational and Psychological Research.
EDPSY 641 - Statistical Methods in Educational and Psychological Research.
EDPSY 646 - Tests and Measurements.

Spring Semester (12 credit hours):

Choose one course from the above fall semester choices that you did not take, and:

EDPSY 612 - Psychological Consultation.
EDPSY 651 - Personality Assessment of Children and Adolescents.
EDPSY 653 - Individual Cognitive Assessment.
EDPSY 687 - Pre-Practicum--Introduction to School Psychology.

Summer Semester (9 credit hours):

  • Choose three classes from the required courses checklist (9 credits total)
  • Apply for Master's Degree at this time
  • Most students will be introduced to their practicum experience during the summer

Second Year

Fall Semester (12 credit hours):

Choose two classes from the required courses checklist, and:

EDPSY 652 - Introduction to Neuropsychology.
EDPSY 688 - Practicum in Consultation.
EDPSY 689 - Practicum in School Psychology.

Spring Semester (12 credit hours):

Choose two classes from the required courses checklist, and:

EDPSY 652 - Introduction to Neuropsychology.
EDPSY 688 - Practicum in Consultation.
EDPSY 750 - Developmental Psychopathology.

Summer Semester (9 credit hours):

Choose 3 classes from the required courses checklist (9 total credit hours).

Third Year
