The need for expertise in special education is broad and the opportunities diverse. Graduates of our programs are pursuing their calling in public- and private-sector jobs across the country.
The majority of graduates with bachelor’s degrees take jobs teaching special education in public school systems. Others find work at special-needs preschools, as resource-room teachers, in residential schools such as the Indiana School for the Deaf, at sheltered workshops and other community agencies, in hospital pediatric units, and in rehabilitation programs.
Those pursuing life after Ball State with a master’s degree may also land teaching positions or may work as consultants or coordinators. Our doctoral alumni often find leadership roles or academic research positions.
Once you’re out in the world, be sure to connect back with the alumni of Teachers College, and other Ball State alumni.
