Paul M. Spengler is Professor in the Department of Counseling Psychology and Guidance Services at Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana. Dr. Spengler received his Ph.D. in 1991 from The State University of New York at Albany and completed his internship in the Albany Psychology Internship Consortium, Albany Medical College. He is the author of over 30 journal articles and book chapters on psychological assessment and psychotherapy, past Associate Editor of the premiere journal, The Counseling Psychologist, past editorial board member of other premiere psychology journals (e.g., Journal of Counseling Psychology), and teaches and researches in the areas of assessment, marriage and family therapy, MMPI-2, advance psychotherapy, and clinical supervision. A recently elected fellow of the American Psychological Association, in recognition of his program of research on mental health clinical decision-making, Dr. Spengler is a licensed psychologist and a Health Service Provider in Psychology in the State of Indiana. Dr. Spengler draws upon extensive clinical experiences in his teaching, research, and clinical supervision from over 30 years of psychological assessment and psychotherapy experience in a variety of settings, including private practice, child and adult forensics, runaway youth, inpatient/outpatient psychiatry, family and youth, community mental health, physical medicine and rehabilitation, pain management, developmental disabilities, and college counseling. Dr. Spengler values the scientist-practitioner model and strives to bring this model to life in his teaching, research, supervisions and psychological practice.
