Program Leader, Elementary Education Programs

James C. Stroud holds a Ph. D. in Elementary/Early Childhood Education and Child Psychology. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in the Department of Elementary Education. Dr. Stroud has public school teaching experience in grades 3 and 4.

Additionally, he has experience in preschool and child care settings. Dr. Stroud serves as an Advisory Board Member for Annual Editions: Family. He has published articles in the area of Professional Development Schools, Adoption, Fatherhood, Early Childhood Education, and Elementary Education. Dr. Stroud has made presentations at the national, regional, state, and local levels. He serves on a variety of professional association committees at the national and state levels. Dr. Stroud has received the Teachers College Alumni Association's Outstanding Teaching and Service Awards.
