Wilczynski Named Distinguished Professor (7/15/11)

Susan Wilczynski, nationally known autism expert, will join the Department of Special Education as the first Plassman Family Distinguished Professor of Special Education and Applied Behavior Analysis. She comes to Ball State from the National Autism Center as its executive director.

Wilczynski is a licensed psychologist and a board certified behavior analyst. She is well respected throughout the country for her expertise in autism and brings a wealth of experience to Ball State. Her career has focused on autism study and research, including a five-year research project called the National Standards Project. At Ball State, she will return to teaching, focus on improving programs, and continue her research on autism.

Ball State has the state’s only master’s program in applied behavior analysis with emphasis in autism, which has an enrollment of approximately 310. The university also offers graduate certificates in autism and applied behavior analysis.
