The Department of Technology (DOT) is suspending new enrollments and transfer of students into Ball State's Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MET) program effective November 22, 2010. This action is being taken because of a pending recommendation to drop the department's Manufacturing Engineering Technology program.
The Department of Technology is committed to supporting a plan to facilitate current students graduating from the University with a BS degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology. It is important that all current MET students meet with Dr. Rex Kanu, MET program coordinator, to facilitate the scheduling of classes in a sequence to support on-time graduation.
The program emphasizes the use of computers in process instrumentation and control, materials handling, and inspection. You'll learn about all aspects of manufacturing and take courses in mathematics and science. You will select electives in an area of specialization you choose.
The program is accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (TAC/ABET).
