Department of Telecommunications and Ball State University have exemplary
production, post-production, and design facilities to meet a wide variety of
student, professional, and academic needs.
These facilities include traditional production studios, two
green-screen virtual studios, video post-production edit suites, recording
studios, audio post-suites, and a visual image and animation lab.
production courses utilize two instructional labs containing 20 Mac Pro Intel
computers with Adobe Creative Suite software and various Apple software
applications (Final Cut Pro and Motion).
Students have 24-hour access to these labs during periods when classes
are not being taught.
seat post-production video lab is also available to students 24 hours a
day. It features 9 Mac Pro Intel
computers and 3 surround-sound audio suites.
2 full-service recording studios, each with its own control
room and isolation rooms.
AUDIO EDITING SUITES:
5 suites, doubling as isolation rooms for recording studios.
2 studios, featuring two green screen virtual sets, one of
which is one of the largest installed virtual studios in the country. This
screen is 50 feet across, 35 feet deep, and 20 feet high. These facilities also feature
state-of-the-art HD camera equipment and control rooms.
PRIVATE EDIT SUITES:
Students also have access to private, full HD video post-production
suites featuring dual 6-core Mac Pro Intel computers, RAID storage, Final Cut
Pro X, Avid Media Composer, and Adobe Premiere Pro.
2 general production studios are available to students for
production purposes and include sound isolation, green screens, and studio
VISUAL IMAGE AND ANIMATION (VIA) DIGITAL MEDIA STUDIO:
A high-end Windows-based 30-station lab dedicated to
three-dimensional modeling (3D) animation and time-based media. Equipped to
support extensive audio/video capture, editing, and electronic publishing.
