BSU Tonight is a TV entertainment show formatted to appeal to college students and the general public. Our objective is to produce quality programming as well as give you the training needed to excel in upper level TCOM classes. The program airs on local public access cable channels.
Indiana Outdoors is a half-hour public television nature show that highlights Indiana natural resources, historic sites, and recreational opportunities through stories from all over the state shot independently by students.
NewsLink Indiana is Ball State’s Emmy Award-winning nightly newscast. Students perform every role both on-camera and behind the scenes for a live 9 p.m. newscast that reaches all of Delaware County via cable. NewsLink Indiana offers Ball State students opportunities to learn firsthand how to write, produce, shoot, edit, report, anchor and begin building a portfolio of their work. No prior experience is required to get started with one of the nation's outstanding student news programs.
Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA), the world’s largest organization for broadcast and electronic journalists, formed a chapter at Ball State in 1990. Reel Deal, Ball State's premier movie review and entertainment news show, is a half-hour weekly television show that highlights current, upcoming, and classic Hollywood films and film-related events and productions around campus, conducting interviews with campus filmmakers and recording feedback from students on-location at university film events.
Something Else is a sketch comedy group with content written and produced by students. Members' works are exhibited on the Internet, television, and radio.
Sports Link is the nation's pre-eminent student run, immersive learning sports program. At SL, you will work on creating sports content for a variety of outlets, including BallStateSports.com, WIPB-TV, Fox College Sports, ESPN, Turner Sports, and Sports Link Radio.
WIPB-TV Channel 49 is a university-owned, over-the-air PBS affiliate carried on more than 30 cable systems. You can participate with part-time employees for in-studio and remote productions.
