  • Amount:  the amount you wish to donate.

TCOM FUNDS:

  1. 7401 = TCOM Foundation.  Provides funds for the welfare, support, and advancements of telecommunications programs. 
  2. 7407 = Letterman WCRD Fund.  Provides supports for the student-run WCRD-FM radio station.
  3. 7412 = Molly Dailey Telecommunications Internship Fund.  Provides awards to qualified telecommunications students whose career paths lead them to seek internship in the large cities of major markets where the cost of living can be prohibitive.  Criteria:  1) two scholarships at $1,500 each; 2) students majoring in telecommunications whose career paths lead them to internships int he large cities of the major markets; 3) preference will be given to citizens of the United States of America and the state of Indiana; 4) must be a full-time student at the time the selection is made, however, the recipient is not required to be a full-time student during the semester in which they serve the internship; 5) grade point average and financial need will be criteria for selections; 6) recipients will exemplify the high spirit and dedicated drive that characterized Molly Dailey and share her passion for a career in telecommunications; 7) in the event the fund cannot be used for the purpose initially intended, the chair and the dean may revise its purpose, keeping in mind the donor's original intent and matching it as closely as possible. 
  4. 7413 = Steve Bell News Packaging Award.  To encourage telecommunications students to take advantage of extra-curricular opportunities offered for aspiring reporters and producers, and to increase the quantity and quality of news packages available for NewsLink Indiana.  Criteria:  1) students majoring in telecommunications; 2) awarded to a student(s) team that produces the best news packages for NewsLink Indiana.
  5. 7415 = WCRD Initiative.  The fund will be used to support WCRD, including but not limited to, equipment for the Letterman Communication and Media Building.
  6. 7417 = Digital Storytelling.  To provide support for travel, special educational and/or promotional events, and related expenses to the Department of Telecommunications' digital storytelling master's program. 
  7. 7418 = Sports Link.  To provide financial support for the welfare, support, and advancement of Sports Link.  Expenses may include, but are not limited to, student travel, conferences, equipment, and other expenses related to running the program. 
  8. 7455 = Telecommunications Faculty Scholarships.  To provide scholarships to Ball State University students in accordance with the following preferences:  1) student of senior standing pursuing a major in telecommunications and is receiving credit for an internship experience; 2) grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in telecommunications and an overall grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. 
  9. 7456 = Dave and Lucy Smith TCOM Intern Scholarship for Minorities.  To provide scholarships to Ball State University students in accordance with the following preferences:  1) students pursuing telecommunications major and doing an internship in the telecommunications industry, regardless of grade point average; 2) demonstrated financial need; 3) preference will be given to African-American students.  If the committee cannot find an African-American candidate to meet the other criteria stated above, then a different minority may be considered.  If no minority candidate qualifies, then a non-minority candidate may be considered.
  10. 7458 = Jim and Linda Needham Telecommunications Scholarships.  To provide scholarships to Ball State University students in accordance with the with the following preferences:  1) students majoring in telecommunications whose career paths lead them to internships in the large cities of the major markets; 2) must be a full-time student at the time the selections are made, however, the recipient is not required to be a full-time students during the semester in which they serve the internship; 3) section will not be based on grade point average and/or financial need.
  11. 7460 = "Dr. Joe" TCOM Scholarship.  To provide scholarships to students in accordance with the stated criteria:  1) student majoring or minoring in telecommunications, preferably those pursuing the sales concentration; 2) grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; 3) junior standing at the time of the application; 4) student who has demonstrated leadership at Ball State; and, 5) fixed award amount of $1,000.
  12. 7461 = Morry E. Mannies Sportscasting Scholarship.  To provide scholarships at Ball State University students in accordance with the stated preferences:  1) junior or senior majoring in telecommunications; 2) student should have a declared interest in sportscasting as will be affirmed in the application process; 3) consideration will be given to academic achievement; 4) preference will be given to an applicant with sportscasting experience; 5) donors prefer one or more rewards of $1,000 each but understand that this amount may be reviewed periodically to compensate for inflation and other factors.
  13. 7463 = John Eiden Radio Scholarship.  To provide scholarships to Ball State University students in accordance with the following preferences:  1) junior or above pursuing a major in telecommunications; 2) minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; 3) radio experience at Indiana Public Radio, WCRD-FM, or a commercial station. 
  14. 7466 = Swim Family TCOM Scholarship.  To provide scholarships to Ball State University students in accordance with the following preferences:  1) telecommunications students receiving course credit for an internship experience; 2) preference will be given to an out-of-state internship; and, 3) student must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. 
  15. 7467 = Chad Muller Editorial Scholarship.  To provide scholarships at Ball State University students in accordance with the following procedures:  1) senior pursuing a major with the Department of Telecommunications with first preference being given to those pursuing the digital production option; 2) student who is likely to pursue a career in film/video editing; and, 3) student who is consistently involved in student, personal, and/or professional TCOM projects.
  16. 30206 = The Jennifer Hinderliter Memorial Scholarship.  To provide scholarships to incoming freshmen from the inner city majoring in telecommunications at Ball State University in accordance with the following procedures:  1) undergraduate students majoring in telecommunications; 2) students from inner city high schools; 3) students who have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; 4) first preference shall be given to incoming freshmen and transfer students, however sophomores, juniors, and seniors are eligible; 5) the scholarship may be renewed if a qualified incoming freshmen or transfer student cannot be identified.
