Theatre and Dance

University Theatre
Ball State University's theatre and dance programs are supported by quality facilities on campus that provide diverse performance venues and contemporary learning environments for students.

University Theatre
Ball State's 410-seat mainstage theatre has state-of-the-art technical equipment, including a completely computerized lighting system and acoustically sophisticated recording and reproduction sound systems. This facility hosts our Mainstage Subscription Series, which features four theatre productions and two dance concerts each year. The theatre is located behind Emens Auditorium, across the plaza south of Bracken Library.

Edward S. Strother Theatre
This 100-seat black box theatre is a multipurpose facility used for more intimate productions, including the Actors Studio Series. This theatre is located in the north end of the Arts and Communications Building.

Cave Theatre
This small laboratory theatre in the Arts and Communications Building is used for classes and student workshop productions.

Ball Gym
This recently remodeled gymnasium houses Ball State's dance program, which now has some of the finest facilities in Indiana with three state-of-the-art dance studios and exceptional support areas. Korsgaard Dance Studio (Room 213) has fully equipped lighting and sound systems and is used for a series of informal dance concerts.

Other Facilities
The Department of Theatre and Dance has a design lab, sound recording studio, makeup room, and performance studies classroom in the Arts and Communications Building.
