Students in Ball State University's musical theatre option are expected to participate in the Department of Theatre and Dance production program. The production season includes the following:

Mainstage Series: four theatre productions and two major dance concerts produced in the 410-seat University Theatre

Strother Studio Series: three or four intimate productions presented in the Edward S. Strother Theatre, a 100-seat flexible black box theatre

The Cave Theatre Series: variety of student productions presented in a 40-seat lab theatre

Downtown Dinner Theatre: early summer production including dinner at the Cornerstone Center for the Arts
