This year's showcase, for the ninth consecutive year, is under the direction of Erica Daniels, casting director of Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre, which has produced such luminaries as John Malkovich, Joan Allen, and Gary Sinise, among many others. Musical direction is by Jodi Cotton, and the showcase acting coaches are Dee Dee Batteast, Eva Patton, and Wendy Saver.

Home to internationally recognized theatres such as Steppenwolf, Goodman, and Second City plus innumerable storefront theatres, commercial and voiceover work, and the occasional film or television series, Chicago is a viable option for young actors eager to begin a career in acting.
