Tutor Training

The Learning Center has made a commitment to work towards becoming certified by the CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association). This is an international association that certifies tutor-training programs and is endorsed by the National Association for Developmental Education and American College Personnel Association.

The purpose of the certification is to allow tutors to receive recognition and positive reinforcement for their successful work from an international organization. The certification helps set up a standard for the minimum skills and training a tutor needs to be successful. It also ensures on-going training through the tutoring experience. Upon completion of a level, the tutor will receive a certificate and the authorization to include this accomplishment on a resume.
