For each student, there is a very specific “window” of time within which to complete this requirement: 

  • At the time of enrollment for WPP392 (Writing Proficiency Exam), students must have completed at least 60 but not more than 89 completed credit hours.
    Students must also have credit in ENG 104 or its equivalent.
  • At the time of enrollment for WPP 394 (Writing Proficiency Seminar), students must have at least 90 but not more than 108 completed credit hours.
    Students must also have credit for ENG 104 or its equivalent and have not more than one completed attempt of WPP 392 (Exam) and no completed attempts of WPP 393 (Course) on their records.
  • At the time of enrollment for WPP393 (Writing Proficiency Course), students must have completed at least 60 completed credit hours.
    Students must also have credit for ENG104 or its equivalent.

All prerequisites must be officially registered before you can register to take the Exam, Seminar, or Course.

With regard to taking a WPP course on campus or online:

  • if a student is registered as a Main Campus student, then he or she should plan any WPP course on campus.
  • If a student is registered as an only online or Off Campus student, then he or she should plan to take any WPP course online.

Space in online sections is not available to students who are taking their courses on campus and/or are registered as Main Campus students.
