Sports and Recreation

There’s nothing like a little friendly competition and physical activity to keep your heart pumping and your mind stimulated. But you don’t have to play on one of Ball State’s tough-as-nails Division I teams to compete and stay fit. Ball State has plenty of other opportunities for sweaty—and maybe not-so-sweaty—competition and recreation.

Intramural Sports

Get a little competitive without taking it too seriously. Intramural sports are a great way to get active and have some fun. Recreation Services  offers intramural golf, volleyball, softball, and other sports.

Sport Clubs

Whether you’re looking to join a team, such as baseball, or compete on an individual level, such as martial arts, sport clubs are great ways to share common interests and get competitive in a structured way. If you don’t see something you like on our list, new clubs can be formed at any time.

Fitness Programs

Relax after a night of studying, drop a few pounds, condition your heart, or even find muscles you didn’t know you had. Whatever your reason, we have something for you. Our fitness programs offer a variety of challenging group exercise classes for all fitness levels. From hip hop to Pilates, the latest exercise classes are taught at various times throughout the day. Instructional Recreation

Ever wanted to master the game of golf or learn the proper cycling techniques? You can. A variety of noncredit instructional classes are offered throughout the year. Golf, Pilates, and cycling classes are just a few of the options available to you. Check out class offerings.
