Triota (Iota Iota Iota, Gamma Chapter)
If you are a women’s and gender studies major or minor, membership in Triota, the national academic and service-based honor society for women's studies, is a natural way to meet other students and make new friends.
Triota’s triple Greek Ιι, Iota, Iota, Iota, represents three goddesses of love, fertility, and war: Inanna, Ishtar, and Isis.
The society’s purpose is to encourage and support scholarship and excellence in women's studies.
- Triota members strive to maintain the feminist values central to women's studies: egalitarianism, inclusiveness, and the celebration of the diversity of women's experience.
- Triota's mission is one of service to other women's studies students.
- Requirements for Triota are a declared major or minor in women's studies, completion of 24 credit hours of course work at Ball State University, completion of 6 hours of women's studies courses, and maintenance of a 3.0 grade point average in women's studies courses.
