This major is a comprehensive investigation of women’s and men's gendered experiences. It introduces the theories and methodologies of the discipline of women’s and gender studies. It explores the issues of gender, culture, sexuality, race, class, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, ability, and religious differences.

Many students take advantage of the flexibility of the major in women’s and gender studies by electing to have a double major. The interdisciplinary nature of  women’s and gender studies mean students take courses offered by other departments. These courses also can be applied toward an additional major or minor in those departments. Women's and gender studies is often paired with a major or minor in:
