The mission of Archives and Special Collections is to collect, preserve, and provide access to archival, printed, and digital resources that support the research and instructional needs of students, faculty, national and international scholars, and the general public.
Collection areas are Rare Books and Manuscripts, Middletown Studies Collection, Stoeckel Archives of Local History, University Archives, and Drawings and Documents Archives.
We are actively digitizing thousands of resources to make them globally available for students and researchers in the Digital Media Repository and the Cardinal Scholar Institutional Repository.
Archives and Special Collections offers access to primary source materials, including photographs, oral history interviews, video and film footage, maps, architectural drawings, and publications for research, class projects, instruction, and publication. Reference service and research assistance are provided on-site or by telephone, written correspondence, e-mail, and fax. Scanning of archival resources is available upon request.
