The University Libraries’8th Annual Copyright Conference at Ball State, Digital Trek 2: The Wrath of ©han, was held at the Ball State University Alumni Center on April 20, 2011, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A total of 124 attended the Conference including attendees from seven different States from throughout the Midwest and East: Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois, Kentucky, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
Besides deans, lawyers, librarians, academic and K-12 faculty, media specialists, instructional designers, technology specialists, principals, and various and sundry directors, there were twelve K-12 students from Pike High School in Indianapolis in attendance as well.
The University Libraries’ Copyright Conference is the only annual intellectual property conference in the Midwest and furthermore, it is the only Copyright Conference in the United States that addresses both academic and K-12 intellectual property needs concurrently. This Copyright Conference is also unique in the United States in that the registration fees are less than $100 which includes a continental breakfast, snack breaks and a buffet lunch. Finally, this Conference is singularly the only intellectual property conference that is duly authorized to grant simultaneous Continuing Legal Education credits, Library Education Units, and Professional Growth Points to those attendees who need them for continuing education credits.
Speakers for the Conference are both nationally and internationally well-known and entail a wide and all-encompassing purview of intellectual property expertise:
• Dwayne K. Buttler, J.D., University of Louisville
• Michelle L. Cooper, J.D., Bose McKinney Evans LLP
• Donna L. Ferullo, J.D., Purdue University
• Janice Pilch, M.A., M.S.
• James R. Williams, J.D., DeFur Voran LLP
