Map Collection Overview

The Map Collection houses about 145,000 maps and charts covering the world and parts of the solar system. A large variety of maps, plans, charts, soil surveys, and aerial photography comprise this collection of historic and modern mapping resources. The Map Collection also contains atlases, gazetteers, cartographic reference materials, and travel guides.

Maps from the GRMC circulate for two weeks. Longer borrowing time can be accommodated by the GRMC staff, and maps can be reserved for professors when an entire class will be using the maps.

Maps from the Collection are also available via interlibrary loan, and the GRMC has access to maps from other libraries and universities using this service.

For information about the scope of the Map Collection or for cartographic research assistance, please contact Melissa Gentry at 765-285-1097 or email mgentry@bsu.edu.
