The University Libraries are part of the Federal Depository Library system and the Indiana state depository system. The Libraries maintain a collection of United States and Indiana government publications in electronic, print, and microfiche format. These publications cover many subject areas, including business, health, education, government affairs, and the environment. Census and Congressional publications date to the late 1700s.
In accordance with Federal Depository Library policy, users of any age needing government information or government publication assistance in print or online should ask for assistance at the Reference/Information Desk. Desk personnel will provide complete access to all online and print government publication sources.
Government publications are located using CardCat, the online catalog. All users may access CardCat free of charge from dedicated workstations throughout the library.
Print publications are kept in many areas of the Libraries: the Government Publications Collection, the Reference Collection, the General Collection, Microforms, the GIS Research and Map Collection, the Architecture Library, and the Science-Health Science Library.
Government publications in these collections circulate to eligible users according to the Libraries’ borrowing privileges list.
