Aid for Athletes

All student-athletes receiving Athletic Grant-in-Aid awards should read the information provided at the links below. The first two links apply to all student-athletes receiving athletic funding. The third link is only for those receiving a book grant as part of their athletic award.

  • Link for "Dear Student Athlete" Letter (2012-13)
  • Link for Athletic Grant-In-Aid Instructions (2012-13)
  • Link for Book Loan Policies and Procedures (2012-13)

All student-athletes are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You can complete the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Completing the FAFSA allows you to receive consideration for funding from the Federal Pell Grant Program. Pell Grant recipients are also eligible to receive up to $500 each year from the NCAA Special Assistance Fund. Forms for this progrram are available in the Athletic Compliance Office (HP 148) after September 15th each year.

Student-athletes who are not receiving a full Athletic Grant-in-Aid are encouraged to complete the FAFSA by the March 10th priority deadline each year to insure that they are considered for funding from as many aid programs as possible.

You may view your financial aid awards anytime at http://my.bsu.edu by clicking on the "Financial Aid" tab.
