Academic Recognition Awards
If you are an out-of-state minority high school senior who has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and have taken a college preparatory curriculum, you may qualify for one of these awards.
The award provides a waiver of the nonresident general fees, meaning you pay in-state tuition, and is renewable for a total of eight semesters of undergraduate coursework if a 2.0 cumulative grade point average is maintained. Recipients must enroll in on-campus classes as a full-time degree-seeking student. Academic Recognition recipients are not eligible to also receive the Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP) award.
Once you are admitted, the Office of Admissions will determine your eligibility based on your high school academic record. Recipients will then be notified.
