Student Veteran Orientation Program
Welcome to the Ball State Student Veteran Orientation Program. This program was developed with three main objectives:
- To provide information to student veterans prior to arriving on campus on topics that might be useful in the transition to Ball State University.
- To provide an opportunity for student veterans to meet other student veterans in the hopes of developing comfortable, safe, and supportive community while on campus.
- To provide both student veterans and their family members information on available student resources and other topics that will be useful while a student at Ball State University.
The program is divided into four areas:

Welcome Week Orientation – This area contains information about the student veteran only orientation day that will occur during Welcome Week so student veterans can meet and interact prior to classes starting.
Student Veteran Resource Center - The resource center is designed for student veterans and family members to inform them about the numerous student resources on campus and other related topics to help student veteran be successful in their college careers.
Student Veteran Organization (SVO) – This area is designated for the on-campus Student Veteran Organization to inform Ball State student veterans about upcoming events and other activities.
Additional tutoring services and programmatic training for student veterans at Ball State University are partially funded by a grant from Purdue University’s Military Family Research Institute. The full grant is entitled, “Operation Diploma”. (Project #687-11)
