An audition is required for admission to Ball State University's B.F.A. in Dance, and the B.F.A. Acting and B.F.A. Musical Theatre options.
Auditions are not required for enrollment in our B.A./B.S. options: Directing/Stage Management, Theatrical Studies, Design and Technology, and Theatre Education. However, all prospective students are strongly encouraged to schedule an interview if applying to the B.A./B.S. options in order to be considered for scholarships.
Please follow the links to the right, and below to view our audition/ interview guidelines and procedures for each option, and to learn more about scholarships and the admissions process.
B.F.A. Dance Auditions
B.F.A. Acting and Musical Theatre Auditions
An audition or interview is required for any incoming theatre or dance major who wants to be considered for a Presidential Scholarship in the Arts, a New Student Talent Scholarship, or a Fine
Arts Scholarship in theatre or dance.
Fine Arts Scholarships are $4,000 ($1,000 per year for four years). Talent Scholarships provide one-year stipends of $500 to $1,000, and students can reapply each year. Students auditioning for admission do not have to audition separately for scholarships; one audition covers both requirements.
