Orientation

What placement tests am I required to take, and when will I take them?

Several placement exams are offered free of charge prior to Orientation. Depending on your academic background and the major you plan to pursue, you may need to take a placement exam in mathematics or foreign language.

Placement exam information will be mailed to you in early April along with your invitation to register for Orientation.  Both exams are offered online and can be completed on any computer.  You must complete the exams (if required) prior to attending Orientation.

Mathematics Exam
Plan to take a mathematics placement exam if you are interested in studying:

  • a major in the Miller College of Business
  • elementary education
  • special education
  • industrial technology
  • biology
  • chemistry
  • computer science

  • mathematics
  • music technology
  • physics
  • pre-audiology

  • pre-dental studies

If you want to take the mathematics placement exam in person rather than online, call the Office of Testing Programs at 765-285-1279.
