CLEP Exams
Eligibility
Ball State grants appropriate credit to currently enrolled students who earn satisfactory scores on the subject exams of the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) listed on our Web site. You will not be awarded CLEP credit for subject exams if you have been or are presently enrolled for credit or audit in an accredited university course that covers the subject for which CLEP credit is offered, nor may you repeat a subject exam within one year.
Subjects and Credit
Academic departments have determined the courses in which CLEP credit may be earned. See a list of current CLEP subject exams and required scores (PDF) for which credit may be earned.
Currently enrolled Ball State students who wish to take a CLEP Subject Examination must contact the Office of Admissions for consideration and procedure information before making arrangements to take the test. Currently enrolled Ball State students who have taken a CLEP Subject Examination prior to enrolling at Ball State may have their records evaluated for CLEP credit by the Office of Admissions.
Procedures
The Tests may be taken at selected colleges and universities in the United States. Tests are given once a month at the Ball State Testing Center, Lucina Hall, Room 366. If you wish to take an examination on the Ball State campus, you must submit registration forms and fees two days before the test date to: Testing Center, Lucina Hall, Room 366, Muncie, IN 47306. Call (765) 285-1278 to make arrangements.
Cost
Fees for each test are $77 payable to CLEP and $45 payable to Ball State University. Test costs are subject to change.
