Friday Night Cardboard is hosted on Bracken Library's lower level on the third Friday of every month when Fall and Spring classes are in session. Board, card, and word games from Educational Technology & Resources' collections will be available to play, including modern board games like Dominion, Ticket to Ride, and (Settlers of) Catan, and family classics like Monopoly, Scrabble, and Uno. Participants are also welcome to bring a game of their own to share. Friday Night Cardboard also features an opportunity for players to learn unfamiliar games. Each month our librarian will choose a game from the University Libraries' collection and teach it to newcomers. Advance registration is not required. Just show up, and bring your friends!
Perfect for Valentine's Day, this concert centers on love, and all the good and bad that comes of it. Featuring a variety of dance genres, including jazz, tap, and ballet, fans and haters of Valentine's Day will find something to enjoy in this concert.
A first for the Department of Theatre and Dance, the 10-Minute Play Fest will feature six one-acts written by students in the department’s playwriting classes. Both directing students and theatrical studies majors can gain experience working with new play development and producing said works.
Enter Pirates! Set sail with Pericles, Prince of Tyre, on an action-packed, epic journey. In heroic fashion, Pericles woos a princess, fights a famine, weathers storms and a shipwreck, wins the hand of his wife, loses her at sea, and entrusts his only child to a king and queen. From a riddle to a heartrending reunion, Shakespeare’s tale charts one man’s sweeping voyage from a headstrong youth to a sage, world-weary man, with humor, pathos and passion.
