Driven to re-imagine how we must prepare musicians to thrive within the shifting marketplace and cultural landscape of the contemporary moment, Mark Rabideau draws upon more than two decades as a tenured faculty member, accomplished musical artist, innovative arts and cultural entrepreneur, and visionary scholar and administrator. He is the director of the 21st Century Musician (21CM) Initiative at DePauw University. As director of 21CM, Mark serves as editor of 21CM.org, the outward-facing online magazine about the future of music that attracts nearly 20,000 unique, monthly visitors; Director of 21CMposium, an international gathering of arts leaders engaged in conversation about best practices for 21st Century musicianship; Director, 21CM Institute, a summer intensive in music entrepreneurship; and Director of Community Engagement, a position through which he has launched innovative projects that re-imagine how we engage audiences from the stage, in the community, and across digital platforms.
