By Arthur Miller
Directed by Eva Patton

The clever and conniving Abigail Williams convinces her town of strict Puritan elders that she and her band of young friends have been possessed by the devil. After her affair with the young farmer John Proctor comes to an end against her wishes, Abigail seeks revenge by launching a savage attack on Proctor's wife and other upstanding women of the town-accusing them of witchcraft. Arthur Miller's chilling parable of the Salem witch trials draws a direct parallel to the McCarthyism of 1950's America and sheds light on the terrifying power of persecution and false accusations.

The Crucible is a part of the 2014-2015 Mainstage series.
