Higher education observer Rich DeMillo discusses how 2012 brought a global conversation about the nature and value of universities that defined a new ecosystem for higher education and looks to the road that lies ahead. DeMillo is a distinguished professor of computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology, director of the Center for 21st Century Universities, a Lumina Foundation fellow, and chief scientist at the Qatar Computing Research Institute. He has been studying the changes in higher education since 2008.
