Three Part Invention - Chamber Jazz: Tracy Silverman, Philip Aaberg, Mike Block

Calendar: Pruis Hall
Start: February 27, 2014 7:30 p.m.
End: February 27, 2014
Location: Pruis Hall

Praised by the BBC as "the greatest living exponent of the electric violin," Tracy Silverman's groundbreaking work with the 6-string electric violin defies musical boundaries. Tracy is joined by Grammy and Emmy-nominated virtuoso pianist Philip Aaberg, who has toured the world playing his powerful and influential Western Americana/Jazz/New Music/Roots compositions.  Pioneering multi-styled cellist Mike Block rounds out the trio; Mike has been touring with Yo-Yo Ma's Silk Road Ensemble, and has been hailed by Yo-Yo Ma as the "ideal musician of the 21st Century." Together, these three redefine contemporary chamber music with pop, jazz and world influences, paradoxically accenting the beauty, elegance, and soulfulness of traditional masterworks.
