Saturn & BeyondAfter over 10 years in orbit around Saturn, the Cassini spacecraft will end its mission exploring Saturn on September 15, 2017 by purposefully entering the planet’s atmosphere. Before it’s destroyed it will send back information from that and other daring trips around Saturn. Come explore one of the most beautiful sights in our solar system in this production and afterwards learn about the most up-to-date information sent back during the final months of the Cassini mission.

Head shot photograph of Dr Angela DavisDr. Angela Davis will speak at Ball State University to mark the relaunch of the African American Studies program at Ball State, and as the keynote speaker of the 2017 Diversity Symposium. Her topic is "Institutional Racism in the Penal & Criminal Justice System". Through her activism and scholarship over many decades, Angela Davis has been deeply involved in movements for social justice around the world. Her work as an educator – both at the university level and in the larger public sphere – has always emphasized the importance of building communities of struggle for economic, racial, and gender justice. This event is free and open to the public.

Saxophonist Bob EasonA part of the annual Saxtemberfest series of events. Bob Eason is currently an Associate Instructor of Saxophone at Indiana University and is the soprano saxophonist of the award-winning Kenari Quartet. Free and open to the public.

Damn YankeesThe department is delighted to welcome Michael Rafter, Emmy award winning arranger, and Broadway musical director. Damn Yankees is about middle-aged baseball fanatic Joe Boyd, who trades his soul to the Devil, also known as Mr. Applegate, for a chance to lead his favorite team to victory in the pennant race against the New York Yankees. But as young baseball sensation, Joe Hardy, he realizes the true worth of the life that he's left behind and works to outsmart Applegate in this musical comedy.
