Ethiopia flagYosef Teklewold will give a presentation on his country of origin, Ethiopia. Ethiopia is located in the Horn of Africa, bordering Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan and Kenya. Ethiopia is the most populated landlocked country in the world. The major languages they speak are Amharic, Oromo, Tigrinya, Somali. Ethiopia’s main exports are coffee, refiend petroleum, gold and cut flowers.

Image head shot of Janet Arias MartinezBall State alumna Janet Arias-Martinez will be sharing on her career experiences with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, working in the non-profit outreach field, and on the unexpected opportunities that led her down the path to her current career. She will show current students how to recognize opportunities beyond those in academia that exist for people with training in the humanities and also how they may help fill the pressing need for public service and community organizing.

Cave StudioFeaturing an all-female cast, Bully is a loosely based, modern retelling of William Golding's Lord of the Flies. Three women-an aerobics instructor and her two followers-beat up other women for fun. Their victims plot a revenge that takes them all away from the aerobics studio and into the woods, where they must confront the darkness that is inside them all.

Dan Jenski, director/writer of the film will also be in attendance. | Movie stars Kathleen Quinlan, Gil Bellows, and Luke Guldan. Produced by Tom Bryan, '77 Ball State alumnus. Released in 2016, ADDicted has won a number of film festival awards including, Audience Choice Awards at Kansas City, Oceanside, and Great Lakes.

2017 Solar EclipseA Solar Eclipse is a beautiful and unique sight. The last total solar eclipse in the USA was almost 100 years ago, but one is coming up this year. Millions of people will be watching the eclipse on August 21, 2017. Although Muncie is not in the path of totality, the city will see the Moon cover up roughly 90% of the Sun. Come learn about solar eclipses and what you need to do to prepare yourself for the 2017 Solar Eclipse.

Opera singers during a performanceOne of Mozart’s operatic masterpieces, Le nozze di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro) was written at the height of the composer's genius. Join conductor Douglas Droste and director Jon Truitt as the Ball State Opera Theatre presents this timeless operatic classic! Le nozze di Figaro will be sung in Italian and titles will be projected throughout. This is the first of two performances.

Shrek The MusicalThe department is pleased to welcome back Sutton Foster to co-direct Shrek The Musical, for which she originated the role of Princess Fiona on Broadway. Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, the Tony Award-winning musical features the same beloved characters, with some interesting twists.
