The Counseling Center and the Community

The Counseling Center is the designated counseling and therapy service for the university community. The center offers a full range of psychological and counseling services for students and a more limited set of services for faculty and staff. As a part of Counseling and Health Services, Center Staff work closely with Health Center Staff and Health Education in providing comprehensive health services to the university community.

In addition to offering psychological services, the center's primary goals are to offer in-depth professional training and experience for doctoral-level interns and other graduate-level psychology students and to contribute to the profession of psychology. Except for certain testing programs, no fees are charged to clients.

The services provided by the center include the following: counseling and therapy for individuals, couples, some families, and groups. The center offers both thematic and general therapy groups. Other services available are consultation and outreach programming, career development counseling and testing, crisis intervention, and psychological assessment.
