Orientation Housing

Thank you for choosing to stay with Housing and Residence Life for your summer Orientation experience!

On-campus overnight housing is available for students and family members in Ball State's residence halls. You may choose to stay one, two, or three nights as needed. Be sure to note the dates you have chosen to attend Orientation—this information will be needed when registering for overnight housing accommodations. To register for on-campus Orientation housing accommodations, see the instructions below.

For Students

Rooms are available for each student in DeHority Complex. To get a taste of what it’s like to live in a residence hall, all students—even commuters—are encouraged to stay. You’ll share a double room with another incoming freshman and have opportunities to meet fellow students and ask questions of orientation leaders. Each room is:

  • able to accommodate two people of the same gender
  • furnished with two beds, bed linens, pillows, and towels
  • air-conditioned

The room rate for students is $25 per person per night. See registration information below.

For Families

Family members also may spend the night in DeHority Complex. Each room is:

  • able to accommodate two people furnished with two beds, bed linens, pillows, and towels
  • air-conditioned

The room rate for family members is $25 per person per night. Reservations for DeHority Complex are required and need to be made one week in advance of your Orientation date. Space is limited and not guaranteed, so please make your reservations early. To learn more about Orientation housing for families, watch our video.

Important note for students and families: Make sure that you are signing up for an Orientation session before requesting Orientation housing. This is a critical step in making sure that you're reserving space at Orientation in addition to a place to stay overnight. If you have questions about Orientation, please contact the Office of Orientation at 765-285-8290.
