Tornado Warnings

The university maintains a tornado warning system on campus. The sirens on the roofs of LaFollette and DeHority complexes are used in conjunction with sirens throughout the city. If at any time the National Weather Service, state or local police communications or other information indicates that Ball State University is in the path of an approaching tornado, the siren will be activated. When the signal sounds, all persons should seek immediate shelter from the approaching tornado. You should leave your room, lock the door, move away from windows, and move to the center of the hallway, to the basement, or to the lowest floor possible. You should not leave the building. Sirens are tested each Friday at 11 a.m.
