Act for Autism

Founded: October 8, 2013

The purpose of Act for Autism shall be to raise autism awareness on the Ball State campus through fundraising, volunteering, and educating, in support of Evidenced-Based Practices for the assessment and treatment of various behavioral excesses and deficits associated with Autism Spectrum Disorders.  The objectives are as follows:

  1. Raise awareness of autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) and Evidenced-Based Practices.
  2. Donate and support local organizations that use Evidenced-Based Practices to support people diagnosed with ASDs, with 50% of all fundraising supporting Easter Seals Crossroads.
  3. Provide support services through Evidenced-Based Practices for people diagnosed with ASDs through volunteering at various events.
  4. Create resources on campus for families.
  5. Advocate for individuals diagnosed with ASDs and their families.
  6. Allow and encourage students on campus to be their own self-advocate.
