American Institute of Architecture Students

Related major/area of study: Architecture
Founded: January 9, 1967

The American Institute of Architecture Students is open to students of all majors. Since 1956, the American Institute of Architecture Students has been the official voice of students to the educational system and the profession of architecture and design. The association helps to enrich the educational experience of students (of all ages) in (or interested in) architecture and design.

The AIAS facilitates community outreach through Freedom by Design (FBD) that teaches students how to resolve accessibility issues while simultaneously providing them with the real world experience of working with a client, mentorship from a local architect and constructor, and an understanding of the practical impact of architecture and design. For more information, visit the Web site or e-mail AIAS.
