Best Buddies

Founded: February 19, 2008
Best Buddies pairs college students with adults possessing intellectual disabilities. Our goal is to form mutually rewarding one-to-one friendships, while making an impact on each other's lives. Best Buddies is an international 501 c 3 non-profit organization. Currently, we are one of 16 Best Buddies college chapters in Indiana that hope to make a difference on our campus and in our community. The organization is open to any full-time undergraduate students and you can earn volunteer credit for class through this organization. Students that join Best Buddies are matched for a full academic year and make a commitment to be in contact with their buddy once a week, attend a group event with their buddies twice a month, attend a Best Buddies meeting once a month, and visit their buddy when possible. If you would rather not commit to being matched, we do have associate members, who participate in the monthly events and in general group fundraising. This is a great opportunity and I encourage you to get in contact with me if you are interested in joining. E-mail College Buddy Director Keya Sartin or visit our Web site.
