Freshmen Leadership Council

Founded: April 1, 2013

The Freshman Leadership Council (FLC) offers incoming freshmen an opportunity to interact with faculty and administration, current student leaders, and a talented, diverse group of their peers.

The council is comprised of emerging freshmen leaders whose purpose is to discover campus resources, relay information to others, develop leadership skills and give a voice as the current freshman class.

This council meets weekly to discuss their experience on campus and work to develop improvements for Ball State University. Freshmen will become acclimated to Ball State University’s campus and create relationships with administration while also developing small-group communication skills and student leadership. Upper-class student leaders will facilitate the meetings and are elected the year before, consequently, this application is only for first-year freshmen.

The council members must be outgoing and have excellent problem solving skills. Students must also be able to communicate with administration in a professional manner and be willing to discuss their opinions on various matters on campus. The council will be chosen through an application process, which is due by the 31st of August by midnight. There are no limits or minimums. Applicants will be notified within the following two weeks. Meetings are every Monday from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. To submit the application or if you have any questions, contact us at FLC or our Facebook page, Freshman Leadership Council.
