Common Questions About the Main and College Commencement Ceremonies
All ceremonies last approximately 1 ½–2 hours.
Tickets are not needed. There is no limit on the number of guests.
Shuttles (including handicap accessible) will run from 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
Handicap seating is available at all venues. Reservations are not needed. Event staff (in yellow shirts or vests) will assist guests with needs.
Academic Honors (grade point) recipients will receive information on medallion pick up two weeks before the ceremony. These honors are for bachelor’s students only.
Caps and gowns are available for purchase at the Ball State Bookstore.
Grad Images will take a photo of each student at their college ceremony and are available for purchase in the days after the event.
If you are present at a college ceremony, your name will be called. If you are not present, your name will not be called. Many students are concerned about this, but don’t worry!
Due to printing deadlines, some student names may not be listed in the Commencement program book. This will not affect your name being called.
In the event of rain, an announcement will be made on the Ball State homepage before 8 a.m., and the inclement weather schedule will be followed.
