Seventy years after the inaugural crowning of the Ball State Homecoming Queen, the tradition will continue as the festivities begin for this year's contestants.
All candidates are nominated by their respective student organizations during the Spring 2009 semester. The top ten queen and king candidates will be determined by online voting the week of September 8-15, and announced following the Royalty Fashion Show on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 in Pruis Hall.
Selection of the 2009 Homecoming queen, king, and their respective courts will be determined from the top ten candidates by a panel of judges. The top ten candidates will meet with the judges at the Faculty/Staff and Royalty Social and will then be interviewed by them later that week. Coronation of the queen and king will take place at the end of Air Jam, held on Thursday, October 1, 2009.
