Dr. Mikel J. Harry

Dr. Mikel Harry is your instructor for the Mindpro® Training System.

Dr. Mikel Harry is President and Chairman of Six Sigma Management Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Dr. Harry has been widely recognized and cited in many publications as the principal architect of Six Sigma and the world's leading authority within this field. He founded Motorola's Six Sigma Research Institute and served as Corporate Director and Senior Member of Technical Staff. In this position, he was responsible for the development of Six Sigma implementation strategy, deployment guidelines, and advanced application tools.

Among Dr. Harry's 50 major publications is his book titled Six Sigma: The Management Strategy Revolutionizing the World's Top Corporations which has been on the best-seller list of the Wall Street Journal, Business Week, and Amazon.com.

In addition to his success with Six Sigma at Motorola, Dr. Harry has consulted with many of the world's top chief executive officers and was instrumental in implementation of Six Sigma at many Fortune 500 companies, including ABB, Allied Signal, General Electric, and DuPont.

Alan Leduc
Associate Professor of Technology

Alan Leduc is your instructor for online and live "for credit" classes and coordinates Ball State's Six Sigma initiatives.

Experience:

Associate Professor in the Department of Technology. Has taught classes in the Manufacturing Engineering Technology Program since 1990.
More than 20 years of field experience in engineering, quality, and management and is a former Vice-President and General Manager of a multi-plant manufacturing facility.

Education:

B.S., Industrial Engineering Technology from Purdue University
M.B.A. from Ball State University
M.S., Interdisiplinary Engineering from Purdue University

Certifications:

Certified Manufacturing Engineer issued by Society of Manufacturing Engineers
Six Sigma Black Belt issued by Six Sigma Management Institute (training at Arizona State University)

Alan Leduc has worked closely with Mikel Harry, the Architect of Six Sigma and Ball State alumnus, to develop Ball State's Minor in Process Improvement, which is focused on Six Sigma and Ball State's commercial training programs.
